Version 2.4

MyGrain 2.4: migraine news, doctor appointments with reminders and a personalized pressure alert.

  • Migraine news. Drugs, treatments, research and clinical guidelines, filtered by the topics you care about. Choose in Notifications which ones you want to be alerted about. Watch the video tutorial
  • Doctor appointments (free). Save your visits with date, place and the questions you want to ask; MyGrain reminds you the day before and a few hours before, and flags it on Home when the appointment is today or tomorrow. Before you go you can prepare the calendar for your neurologist (Premium). Watch the video tutorial
  • Personalized pressure alert (Premium). If your diary shows that pressure drops affect you, MyGrain schedules the alert on your phone with your own sensitivity and the time you choose, without sending your health data to any server. Watch the video tutorial
  • A more useful Home: the notice at the top alternates news and health notices, with a weekly fact about your sleep.
  • Option for silent reminders and stability improvements.
Version 2.3

MyGrain 2.3: pressure drop alerts, a calendar for your neurologist and your diary as CSV.

  • Weather alert. Turn it on in Notifications and MyGrain warns you the evening before when a sharp pressure drop is expected in your area. It is free and needs no account: our server only knows an area of about 50 km and your language, never your health data.
  • Headache calendar for your neurologist (Premium). A PDF with four months at a glance: each day with its type of pain, its intensity and the medication taken (anti-inflammatories, triptans and others), like the one doctors usually ask for.
  • Your diary as CSV, free. From Reports, export all your episodes to a spreadsheet to keep or share. Watch the video tutorial
  • Low pressure in more detail: the report says how many of your headaches line up with low pressure and what type they were. Watch the video tutorial
  • Fixes: tension-type headache no longer counts as migraine, and cluster headache and chronic headache now have their own place in the diary.
Version 2.2

MyGrain 2.2: the weather of every day and the time you wake up.

  • The weather of every day, not just of your attack days. If you set your city, MyGrain saves each day's pressure, temperature, hours of sunshine, rain and humidity. In Reports (Premium) it compares the days with an episode with the pain-free days, to see whether low pressure, heat or sunshine line up with your attacks more than usual. Your city stays on your phone. Watch the video tutorial
  • The time you wake up. With your permission, each episode shows what time you woke up, next to the time you went to bed (Apple Health). In Reports (Premium), the analysis also checks whether an irregular sleep schedule comes before your episodes. Watch the video tutorial
  • These are signals from your own history, not causes and not a prediction, and the app tells you when there is not enough data yet.
  • Fixes: pressure is now measured at sea level, so it no longer depends on your city's altitude; PDF reports read correctly in Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Arabic and Hindi; and better-fitting text in several languages.
Version 2.1.1

MyGrain 2.1.1: the App Store now lists all 25 languages of the app, and the Premium subscription is described in your language. Everything from 2.1 is included:

Version 2.1

MyGrain 2.1 brings sleep and activity, six new languages and several fixes.

  • Sleep and activity. With your permission, the app reads sleep and activity data from your watch or your phone (Apple Health on iPhone) and shows you, for each episode, how much you slept the night before and how active you were the day before. In Reports, a new analysis points out what tends to precede your episodes: these are signals from your own history, not causes and not a prediction. The daily data is free; the pattern analysis is part of premium. Watch the video tutorial
  • Six new languages: Traditional Chinese, Vietnamese, Thai, Hebrew, Czech and Ukrainian. MyGrain is now available in 25 languages.
  • Fixes: weather and activity impact no longer get lost when you edit a past episode, PDF reports now render correctly in more alphabets, and treatment suggestions and medication-overuse warnings are more reliable and only appear when the data backs them up.
Version 2.0

MyGrain 2.0 is a complete rewrite of the app, rebuilt from the ground up.

  • Your data, when you sign in. If you were logging without an account, creating one or signing in merges what you logged into your account and backs it up: changing phone no longer means starting over.
  • Pattern and trend recommendations. The app now reads back your own history and surfaces your most frequent triggers, runs of consecutive migraine days, changes from one month to the next, and how often you use acute medication. Watch the video tutorial
  • Treatments with dates and reminders. Record when you took each treatment and how well it worked, and set dose reminders at the frequency and time you choose. Watch the video tutorial
  • A new calendar. Month, two-week and week views, with each day colour-coded by type of episode and a legend to read it at a glance. Watch the video tutorial
  • Monthly reports for your appointments, exportable as PDF. Watch the video tutorial
  • 19 languages. The whole app — including the treatment, symptom and trigger catalogues — is now translated into English, Spanish, German, French, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, Korean, Indonesian, Hindi, Japanese, Chinese, Arabic, Turkish, Dutch, Swedish, Norwegian, Danish and Polish.
  • A fully redesigned interface, faster startup and many fixes throughout.
  • Thank you for the feedback that made this version possible — it is welcome from inside the app.
